Stab Proof Vests
Our stab proof vests range from subtle to tactical and stab resistant panels from light and minimal to high coverage and high protection. We have stab proof vest solutions for hospitals, councils, private security, public transport authorised officers, paramedics and more.
All Hellweg stab proof vests and body armour panels are made in Australia from flexible Kevlar based materials and can be customised to individual customer's needs, even at low volume.
As knife slash threats are easier to defeat than the perpendicular drops prescribed in NIJ 0115, our edge blade stab panels are also slash proof.

Stab Proof Vest Options
4900 Series ELBV
Fitted with stab resistant panels and equipment pouches, the 4900 Series Enhanced Load Bearing Vest makes the perfect platform for combined stab proof body armour and load carriage.
Not only will it protect against stab threats, carrying items such as radios, batons, handcuffs on the torso rather then belt will reduce the incidence of lower back injury.
8300 Series Vest
Perfect for where a more subtle, rather than tactical look is required, the 8300 series offers the same protection options as the 4900 ELBV. It comes standard with a body worn camera mount and can be optioned with corporate logos, role identification labels and retroreflective tape.
8600 Series ELBV
The 8600 series Enhanced Load Bearing Vest is perfect for where maximum load carriage, convenience and comfort must go hand in hand with stab resistant body armour.
Stab Proof Armour Options
All Hellweg vests can be fitted with a variety of removable stab panel options, depending on customer requirements for protection vs comfort.
All Hellweg stab resistant armour is made by us, in Australia from European Union sourced Kevlar, not materials from low cost countries or inflexible, rigid panels. Panels are individually serial numbered, with serial number records kept indefinitely.
Our stab resistant armour has been tested by an independent NATA certified lab to US standard NIJ 0115 Stab Resistance of Personal Body Armor. This is the standard called for by police forces and government departments in Australia and the US.

Hellweg NIJ 0115 stab resistant panels are available in the following protection levels:
Coverage: Vital organs only
Use Case: Ideally suited to shopping centre security, paramedics and other applications where the likelihood of an incident is relatively low and light weight is important.
MOQs apply.
Coverage: full coverage of the vest's area.
Use Case: Perfect for corrections environments where spikes are the predominant threat or lower risk applications where flexibility and light weight are important.
Coverage: Edge blade and spike over vital organs, spike elsewhere
Use Case: Best suited to situations where a high level of protection against a variety of threats is paramount, but weight and flexibility are also important, such as hospital security and councils.
NIJ 0115 Stab Resistance of Personal Body Armor has two sets of requirements - the threat type (class) and energy level.
The edge blade class represents common 'street' threats such as kitchen and hunting knives, whereas spike represents improvised prison shivs - akin to a sharpened bicycle spoke.
The standard has three energy levels, represents the energy deliverable by 85th, 90th and 96th percentile males.
