Hellweg load bearing vests are designed and made by us, in Australia, so the configuration can be customised to your unique needs, even at low volumes.
Our load bearing vests can be fitted with optional, removable stab or ballistic armour (ELBV variants only).
In addition to providing more equipment carrying capacity than belts, load bearing vests help reduce lower back injuries by taking weight off your duty belt and spreading it over the larger area provided by your torso.

Load Bearing Vest Features
Breathable Mesh Construction
To minimise heat buildup, our load bearing vests are made from hard wearing polyester mesh.
They have been field proven for over 10 years in hot climates, including Northern Territory and Queensland.
Vast Load Carriage
The 4900 Series LBV/ELBV can carry up to 6 equipment pouches. We have a large range of standard pouches and can custom make them to fit unique equipment.
Pouches can be either MOLLE mount for reconfigurability or sewn on for standardisation.
Fits All Body Shapes and Sizes
All your staff can look professional and feel great, with male and female cuts, plus short, regular, long and extra long lengths.
We can accomodate female size 8 through to male 8XL and beyond.
Say goodby to ill-fitting vests which look more like an oversize garbage bag with arms and legs and say hello to a professional uniform.
Size Adjustable
In addition to a vast array of sizes, our load bearing vests are size adjustable at the waist and shoulders, for maximum comfort.
Padded Upper Back And Shoulders For Comfort
To maximise comfort where the load of the pouches is carried by your torso, the load bearing vest is lined with breathable, padded ribbed spacer mesh.

The Hellweg 4900 Series LBV/ELBV is a platform upon which almost every exterior surface can be customised to your unique requirements, whether it be load carriage, body worn camera mounts, ID, corporate/department branding, we can likely accomodate your unique needs.
Armour Options
ELBV variants can be fitted with removable ballistic (ie bullet) or stab resistant armour panels.
We can also supply hard armour plates to protect against rifle fire.
Body Worn Camera Mounts
We can provide a range of body worn camera mounting options to suit all makes and models of camera.
Mounting locations include front flap and left breast.
Mounts include sewn-on Klickfast, MOLLE, 38mm webbing and more.
Pouches for Everything... Almost
We have a vast array of pouches for almost all common equipment including radios, disposable gloves, OC spray, handcuffs, batons, RFID chip readers, magazines and much more.
If we don't have a pouch for your equipment, we can custom make them, even at low volumes.
Optional Removable Hi Vis
Our removable hi vis over-vest has cutouts, so you won't lose access to your equipment pouches. Other features include size adjustability, attachment for labels, ID window and optional epaulette slide.
Available in fluro yellow or orange. Other custom colours are available too.
Standard fabrics and retroreflective tapes meets AS/NZS 1906.4 High Visibility Clothing.
Custom Labels
We have a large selection of standard labels, including SECURITY, COUNCIL, LOCAL LAWS and more.
We can also provide custom made labels with your choice of text, even in small quantities.
Custom Badges
To make your vest look extra professional, we can supply custom embroidered badges with your department/company logo.
Inflatable PFD*
Our load bearing vests can be optioned with a 150N AS4758.1 certified auto/manual inflatable PFD.
The PFD will be black or navy to match the vest and can be fitted with ID windows and logo badges.
* unavailable until late 2025, when we commence in-house PFD manufacturing.
Accessories
Heavy Duty Hanger
Fully loaded with accoutrements, your flimsy plastic or wire hanger won't cut it. So we have a hanger as heavy duty as our vests.
Our hangers are injection moulded in Australia to Hellweg specifications.
Carry Bag
If you wear your load bearing vest intermittently while on duty, the carry bag makes transporting and storing it much easier.
Duty Belts
Made in-house, our duty belts can carry any extra belt-mounted gear you wish to carry. Our three piece belt kit includes trouser belt, outer belt and keepers.
