Hellweg Modern Slavery Policy

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Modern Slavery Policy is to demonstrate the commitment of Hellweg Pty Ltd to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chain. We recognize the importance of ethical business practices and our responsibility to uphold human rights.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, suppliers, and contractors involved in our business operations. It encompasses all aspects of our business, including procurement, production, and distribution.

3. Definition of Modern Slavery

Modern slavery encompasses various forms of exploitation, including forced labor, human trafficking, debt bondage, and child labor. It is our aim to ensure that our practices are free from any form of modern slavery.

4. Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Conducting our business ethically and transparently. 
    To demonstrate this within our own operations, we are and will remain accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.
  • Ensuring that modern slavery does not occur in our operations or supply chains.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to human rights.
  • Regularly reviewing and assessing our policies and practices to identify and mitigate risks related to modern slavery.

5. Supply Chain Management

We will:

  • Conduct due diligence on our suppliers to assess their compliance with modern slavery laws and standards where the size of the contract is significant and/or there is reason to suspect breaches.
  • Include modern slavery clauses in supplier contracts, outlining expectations and responsibilities.
  • Provide training for our employees to recognize and report signs of modern slavery.

6. Reporting and Whistleblowing

We encourage all employees and stakeholders to report any concerns regarding modern slavery. Reports can be made confidentially to the Managing Director without fear of retaliation.

7. Training and Awareness

We will provide training to employees conducting procurement activities to raise awareness of modern slavery issues and promote understanding of this policy.

8. Monitoring and Review

We will regularly review this policy and our practices to ensure its effectiveness. We will also monitor compliance and investigate any breaches of this policy.

9. Policy Approval

This policy has been approved by the Managing Director and is effective as of 1st November 2024. It will be reviewed annually.
