When the City of Melbourne were looking to implement an election promise of new Community Safety Officers, they wanted not only load bearing vests for the safe, ergonomic carry of equipment, but also the utmost stab protection for their staff. On top of this, it had to look distinctive and uniquely Melbourne - it needed to stand out in the busy Melbourne CBD streets, setting officers apart from police, public transport officers and other wearers of hi vis.

The Solution

The load bearing vest is our 8600 Series ELBV with laser cut MOLLE, plus its stab resistant panels.

For the hi vis over-vest, we turned to our Australian supplier network and had hi vis fabric custom dyed to a specific shade of green used in the City of Melbourne's brand identity. This green is totally unique and made their Community Safety Officers distinctive and prominent on busy CBD streets.

We also provided custom logo badges, COMMUNITY SAFETY rear labelling, TCH handcuffs, pouches to fit their specific equipment and duty belts.
